Seedrs joins Food & Drink Heroes as partner

Food & Drink Heroes, the awards programme that champions the UK’s food and drink entrepreneurs, has announced a new partnership with Seedrs.

Now in its second year, Food & Drink Heroes celebrates the entrepreneurial stories of the founders behind the UK’s brightest food and drink businesses. Challenger brands make up to 96% of the UK's total food and drinks businesses. These companies contribute a highly significant £18 billion to the UK economy.

Seedrs is an equity crowdfunding platform launched in 2012 that enables all types of investors to invest in businesses they believe in and share in their success. Equity crowdfunding “done properly”, Seedrs enables all types of growth-focused businesses to raise capital and a community in the process.

Since launch, more than 1,500 campaigns have crowdfunded a total of £1.7 billion on Seedrs, helping to fuel the growth of businesses around the world.

Founder of Food & Drink Heroes, Francesca James, said:

“Seedrs has established itself as a leader in the equity crowdfunding space and a vital growth tool for so many businesses, particularly in the food and drink industries.

“I’m incredibly encouraged by Seedrs’ passion for supporting entrepreneurs in food and drink, and I’m delighted they have joined us in our mission.”

John Lake, CCO at Seedrs, said:

“We are really pleased to sponsor this year's Food & Drink Heroes. As the leading equity crowdfunding and private equity marketplace for F&B in Europe, we've had the privilege of supporting the funding journeys for hundreds of brilliant businesses, including allplants, THIS, Oddbox & Mindful Chef.

“We are proud to be the most active investor of the last decade in the UK's F&B sector and are excited to continue to support the ecosystem. We can't wait to see the next generation of F&B businesses, and hope to be a part of their next stages in growth and success.”

Food & Drink Heroes will crown winners in 16 categories, including Confectionary Entrepreneur of the Year, Sustainability Entrepreneur, Hospitality Entrepreneur of the Year and Small Business Supporter of the Year.

The awards are free to enter and open to any business registered in the UK that operates in the food and drink industries. Entries close 21st January 2022. For more information and to start your entry here.drink
